The number of years spent by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport on consulting services has increased more than in the past two years.

In 2017/18, the Department spent £ 2.7m on consultancy services; This number has risen by £ 600,000 over the next two years: the former to £ 3.3m then, in 2019/20, to £ 3.9m.

Then there’s the huge increase in 2020/21, when DCMS spent £ 16.6m on negotiators. This is, of course, the age marked by the high incidence of coronavirus infection. These figures were released by then -minister of technology Julia Lopez, in response to a parliamentary question written by Liberal Democrat MP Wendy Chamberlain.

Lopez added: “Assets are VAT non -refundable, and VAT is non -refundable translated accordingly. Costs are subject to change for FY21/22 after the review. and the final property shall be published in the DCMS Annual Report and Accounts FY21/22.

The minister left the government last week in a joint resignation issued with four other colleagues – with Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch. Lopez has spent two and a half years working on digital government, information technology, and information technology.
